Remark from an enebriated Churchill to Truman during a White House dinner, as reported by Truman's daughter Margaret.: "Mr. President, I hope you have your answer ready for that hour when you and I stand before St. Peter and he says, 'I understand you two are responsible for putting off those atomic bombs. What have you got to say for yourselves?'"
In vino veritas

speaking of which...
i'm at my uncle and aunt's house in iowa city, and just finished watching kurosawa's dreams. wow. it was incredible, and so much to think about. the way each sequence dealt with death, and the way in which the bombs were such a part of this man's, this culture's identity...and ultimately of our own. it's truly unbelieveable how man can convince himself that the greatest evils are a good.
lame. that was supposed to be from an attendant lord.
